Passion versus Profit In Real Estate
As I have written in previous blogs, I left residential real estate to focus strictly on commercial real estate for a few years. My foray into working for a commercial firm was far from being a success. I made the mistake of joining a firm with very little direction, and unfortunately management did not have the vision that most successful real estate firms have. The one thing that all successful real estate firms share is the vision that the strength of the company is only as good as the sum of its parts. This firm saw its parts as very disposable. Hence I, along with many agents joined and quickly exited this firm. One of the things I tell agents now is the best indicator of where you should work is if there is a revolving door of agents working for a particular firm. If that tends to be the trend, there is usually a reason why.
